Sorry have I missed something......nice this morning with clear blue skies then cloud set in and it rained for 5 mins

 now cloud clearing

The forecast was for frequent blustery wintry showers with the threat of sleet/snow later.....yeah right

Sorry Pip not a go at you In anway...just yet again the forecast is totally wrong

C.S

I think it will be wintry showers tonight and it is caused by cold winds coming over the warm sea. It is called Sea Effect Snow. Were still dominated under a low pressure system. I won't be surprise if we see some showers coming out of this.

Not seen any lightning, but heard several rumbles of thunder here in Kendal about 30 mins ago.

Might struggle to see the lightning though with our outside Christmas lights flashing annoyingly.

Let down so far.

Yes they got yesterday pretty well spot on but today hasn't worked out as expected.Forget the snow, other than a 10 minute shower about 4.30 ish we haven't even had rain.Maybe something overnight but looking unlikely.

Looking at the possible wind charts for Saturday, it all depends where the North West ends up on Sunday. We could be up in the Arctic or down in the Med.

Yes, it could all change again in the morning but we're only 36-48 hours away now and as it stands, the North West is right in the firing line for a potentially serious storm and on the busiest shopping day of the year.Never mind, at least it will be mild.

That LP for Saturday seems to have sprung up out of nothing. Need to hope the gfs is having one of its off nights, because as you say it certainly doesn't look pleasant. We are right in the path of that little low.

-1C with a Dew point of -1.8C here and it's just rained what a joke!

A bit of wet, slushy stuff on the cars and drive this morning. Not sure what it is but it does resemble snow a little bit, certainly what it looks like when conditions are just on the wrong side of marginal and at 2.3c, temperatures back this up.

Just a fairly mild , dry morning after a dry night here. 4.8 °C with a minimum of 4.4 °C. Nothing remotely interesting here

GFS still suggesting a short period of strong winds for the NW tomorrow, around 6pm. Really need to keep an eye on this one as we are right in the suggested firing line of this.

May not develop at all, but that's 2 consecutive runs now that have this rapidly developing feature.

Yes this could cause some problems if it comes off as currently shown, certainly could be looking at winds at in excess of 70mph.

As I said earlier though the BBC are currently having non of it and this is backed by the Met O. who's forecast, although mentioning windy is indicating nothing exceptional.

We shall see I suppose.
