Just for John P, this is my ramp chart of the day...............

Now where did I put that vodka Posted Image

Might have to give the GFS an entire brewery to get something even remotely festive from the pub run Posted Image

Well, an interesting 36 hours to say the least.  As said in some of the earlier posts, the emergency services and the volunteers who turned out to help deserve a heartfelt "Thank You"  It also seems the majority of people behaved sensibly and listened to advie when given, the few who didn't, fishermen on Cromer Pier, people driving cars, 4x4's and other vehicles along sea fronts should just consider themselves VERY lucky.Have to go to Cromer tomorrow, I'll try to get some pictures of the pier and the sea wall, I think people are hoping that the next surge is another 60 years away.

Down to 1.8C here already but feels colder, has been clear all day and the garden pond has kept a frozen surface all day

Evening all. Home was spared thank goodness and I have felt a lot better compared to last nights worrying. Saffron Walden had their Christmas market this evening so I went to that and had some mulled wine Posted Image

Really enjoying my new home, just wish the weather wasn't so monotone Posted Image

SW is a lovely town. I wonder what all the people who stereotype Essex, from old jokes and a crap quasi reality tv programme would think of it? :)

Does anyone know how Walcott fared last night, been there on holidya a few times, and know their sea defences are pretty non existent so would fear the worst

Probably think the town is part of Cambridgeshire Posted Image

To be honest it's not far from Cambridge so it wouldn't be too difficult to get confused there.

As I heard it, there was some minor flooding but it escaped the worst, perhaps it was at a junction where 2 wavefronts cancelled each other out, certainly it looks as as though Cromer and Hemsby fared worse than Walcott

hi norfolk

the charts earlier are ramp charts

although anything is possible still Posted Image

Thought they were, but might still be a good comparison (as I expect snow that day  for no reason at all )

hi norfolk

i am keeping my eye on the jet and i still think the charts are overpowering it too much in fi

we have to be patient but the cold will come

re that chart

it has as much chance of coming up as all the fi warmish charts being posted

heres a boring chart

Posted Image

back then it would have been classed as a Posted Image chart

but later on

 the pattern led to this

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

my point is this

patterns can change very quick and fi is what it is whatever it shows

like posting that chart above though Posted ImagePosted Image

I spoke to a few people down at Stoke bridge about 2am, Wondered if any of them were you. Water was very high again this afternoon.

No, not me Chris. I did think about going but the pull of the bed was greater. :)

Hope you feel better soon Grace :-)

Thank you MK. I'd had scrambled egg for brekky and eggs cripple me these days. Feel loads better now. :)

Still a balmy 5.3C here. Hoping for a cold clear day tomorrow as the log-chopping was delayed a bit by trapping my little finger between a couple of ash logs getting their revenge. A&E was effective though, pleasingly. Entry to exit via X-ray and consultation a fairly impressive 2 hours.

AS, I've not felt myself able to participate in the Mandela sanctification, despite growing up in the same era (I think I'm a few years older at 51). But everyone to their own. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist, etc.

Edit: You cant't leave, AS...we need you for your poetic rambllngs...the only person who even attempts to describe meh murk and make it sound OK.
