Its been snowing all morning.

Theres more snow today on the hills than on thursday.

Temp is 1.5c. Will drive up later

Theres far more snow on binevenagh, its all foggy so I cant see it.

Sleety hail shower just passed. Closest to snow I've seen away from the mountains this winter!

I was over at Cabragh earlier and shared this beauty .. dad and I were saying it was like the snow of my childhood ..big flakes on a west wind . The belief in the need for a northerly or easterly to bring snow may be gone if this pattern were to persist thru winter

Irish met keeping there cards close to their chest.Not much mention of this so called awful storm! ,aybe they are onto something. i also think the chance of snow is disappearing rapidly away from high ground over festive period

It actually isn't. It is supposed to snow on christmas eve too.

Now I can report 1.6c and graupel which is sticking to the gutters. That is a first

A really decent period of snow there, not  bad covering either pity its a bit wet

Snowing lightly here for the past 30 minutes or so.

Ok folks things looking rather on the serious side at this stage for tomorrow night and Tuesday following 12z's with higher likiehood of widespread storm force winds, heavy rain and potentially, for a time, snow. 

 

And Christmas Eve too - that is not good.

I'm thankful we're having the family do tonight as people have to disperse for xmas. Just at the moment I'm knackered - stopped for a coffee - but at least everyone will arrive and leave safely and I can enjoy the storms.

Think it was the same everywhere. 

 

Looking forward to the next burst of snow. Tomorrow night. Hopefully more accumulations this time. It's great seeing snow, but getting sick of no accumulations now.
