Could not help but notice how many starlings we have around here this year, the last 2-3 years have been very quite and seeing them was quite rare, but this year their numbers seem very high (and their voices loud).

Anyone else noticed them being more abundant this year?

There have been plenty here all year as usual, seem to have missed the steep declines in the population that has affected many areas. The numbers of starlings in the country starts to swell at this time of year as perhaps millions of them from the continent migrate here to escape the winter (especially in Eastern parts). Doesn't seem to be have been especially cold there recently though.
