Temps have been overcooked for today for example we haven't reached higher than 3 degrees here and temp is currently dropping so if things carry on as progged with an increased shower activity I fail to see how many above say 100m in West Wales and the Valleys away from the coast will fail to see anything, not talking inches but a dusting is more than possible. High ground above 400m here has already had snow/hail cover following today's showers so those lucky enough in those areas will have a good crisp white christmas methinks.

More hail i don"t think i ever seen so much hail in one day, now some snow mixed in with it,some heavier showers now moving towards Pembroke could get interesting in a few hours.

Snow affecting travel on the A470 over the Brecons:

A470

A470 Libanus, both ways between A4215 and A4059

A470 Powys - Hazardous driving conditions on A470 between the A4215 junction in Libanus and the A4059 junction in Nant-ddu, because of snow. Approach with care.

Hope the weather Gods send a bit this way (and everywhere else too, 'tis the season of goodwill after all)

Pretty sleety here. I'm hoping the showers ganging up to our Southwest will deliver something for the Valleys.

A very heavy hail shower here, which has given a white covering on all surfaces.

Loads more showers piling in from the S West

Happy Christmas to all those in Wales!

Glad to see that some people in Wales are getting some wintry stuff for Xmas, plus well done to anyone that managed to get a bet on snow in Cardiff... odds of 6/1 were available, so could be a great bonus for some.

Either way, have a great day!!

Snowing here currently, very wet though, was just hail a few minutes ago. Not settling properly, but there is a slushy/icy deposit on some surfaces. Cheers Santa Posted Image

Some snow flurries yesterday, bright and chilly Christmas morning, time to get up, leaving snoring husband and cat to a lie in.

Merry Christmas!

Well it snowed for about an hour here leaving a slight covering, now it has turned back to sleety rain, despite the temperature continuing to fall (0.9c now). We're right on the snowline so when the sky clears the hills should be beautifully white. If the sky clears that is as the precipitation seems to have got stuck right over us, (if only it would turn back to snow).

Anyway MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

There was another (torrential) hail shower past midnight, adding to the accumulation, so a wintry Christmas if not a white one.

By morning a few bits of hail/ice were remaining on the grass but mostly thawed.

The showers this morning mostly rain. Posted Image

Merry Christmas to one and all.
