Spare a thought for the RNLI and other emergency people who are desperately looking for the 14 year old lad this evening in treacherous conditions

I'm beginning to get better wind readings now the winds have switched. I'm a bit obstructed to the West but not in the South/South West, i should be able to get some great readings tonight.Bar is falling rapidly - 993.9hPa and 19mm of rain has already fallen. I'm off out very shortly, so if you wonder where i am, Mapantz are probably being blown off. :O

The LP looks a tad further North than predicted but not as well developed judging by the

9pm observation update.

Well peeps time for sleep for me.. All this forum watch has exhausted me. I doubt the storm whatever strength it is will wake me, do to those of you who stay up. Enjoy the evening and play nicely. If it is alot less severe we are all winners in my book.

I had actually noticed I'm getting a headache... But put it down to wine and excitement of the gathering storm!

I've got a headache, I put it purely down to the addiction I have to this site when the weather turns interesting, it's been a long week f starring at a Screen LOL

FWIW the NAE 12Z had much of inland southern England under or having previously been under 35mph sustained winds, with gusts probably, 60mph+ in that case with quite a tight pressure squeeze. Notable and enough to cause some disruption especially with trees this time of year and worthy of some warnings, though not what I'd call 'exceptional' or the sky news 'super storm' Posted Image

Definately more developed than the GFS anyway. It will be interesting to see what the 18Z NAE shows shortly.

Edit: and now it starts coming out as I was writing, it appears a bit less developed and slightly further south so far..

Have a goodnight Polar Bear. Pressure now dropping here,my reading is 982.9 but not sure how accurate that is? Still calm wind wise!

The system doesn't look much at all on the latest NAE run, as outlined by Nick appears it won't under go rapid Intensification until it exits the east coast.

Perhaps gusts to 70mph on some exposed coasts.

And some strong gusts just as it departs East Anglia.

Gusts inland 40-50MPH at most, perhaps a little more in East Anglia/Southeast as system centre clears and winds back northwesterly.

Haha, know what you mean!

The thing I've taken from this is how good NWP analysis is these days. Think the MetOffice have publicly shown their brilliance.
