Its the highest village in the country in Peak District between Leek and Buxton. If it doesn't snow there, nowhere will get snow!

lol thats why I asked.i was hoping your answer would be that its on low ground but it clearly is not.does not fill me with any confidence at all of seeing snow later as am in leicester and leicester is not all that high.

Yorkshire thread sounds hopeful, I have twice the elevation as most of the city and they are reporting huge flakes settling, I'd imagine the band will die out soon though

twice the elevation of me as well, yours is 216m, if still at gentleshaw

Just smatterings of light rain here. it's the intensity that will bring surprises...and as already mentioned, it is getting weaker.

Plenty of locations reporting snow just to the north of us and heading this way, All depends on how heavy the precipitation is, Looking at the radar still heavy looking.

Is it me or does it seems further west.

GFS looking good for early next week, certainly dry, hopefully cold, frosty and foggy

I think ECMWF is a crap model, not accurate medium range to FI, its all about no1 model GFS folks

Rain and howling wind here, doesn't seem anywhere near cold enough for snow. We did get a few sleety bits in the rain this morning, but its got warmer since then. Are the 850s much colder over Yorkshire or something, its weird how its sticking low down there but its rain and sleet everywhere else

Earlier today this band was seen to be on its way to the east of our region and i was hoping it would come in a little further west but i did'nt expect this far west,

To where its almost missing me altogether Posted Image .......Just shows how things can change in a very short time.

Well, it developed a hole that went around me and then the bulk of it changed direction and went 10 miles to the west of me!!! ><
