Morning all. windier than I was expecting, no sign of damage but quite difficult to keep your balance in the gusts, daylight will make it seem better.

Really starting to pick up here now. Lights flickering on and off and a tree just beside my house looks a bit vulnerable. Been told by work I still have to make every effort to get in!

Christ, the last 5 mins have been concerning. Very strong gusts. Probably sounds worse being in the loft.

In East Grinstead. The rainfall was v heavy but passed through recently. My gauge showing 22mm. Windy for sure but nothing exceptional for an Autumn Atlantic storm so far. Can confirm jet planes are tracking into Gatwick to the north of the town.

Looks like the UKMO called the track pretty well, all the highest gusts well south of here.  Wind didn't start getting up until about 04:15, with gusts around 30 mph at the moment, so squally but not extreme.  Fair bit of rain overnight with what looks like a lot more coming at us now.

 

The radar shows a very intense, fast moving squall line from about Stoke Manderville up to the North Norfolk Coast near Kings Lynn, there are a few gaps in it in Cambridgshire, but it looks as though the winds will be quite nasty either side of that and the rain looks very heavy
