First meaningful shower of the day here. It had to be when I was walking back from the shops, with no coat or umbrella..

Really hope we hit the jackpot later ;-)

Chaotic mid-level cloudscape on way into work, Kent/London/Surrey border, with a splash of rain. Some steady rain on arrival in Croydon.

 

First bout almost over here in Croydon, we're just on the northern edge of that heavy stuff over Sussex>Kent.

 

Waiting for round 2 later on then.

I saw that too! Lowering of scud but then looked like some rotation on it, strange

Hmmmm, 1 Hours worth of rain,Windy and now its alot brighter. Not what i was quite expecting from early morning radar, Still few hours to go yet i guess.

The rain is north of London and surprise surprise the energy in it just tanks, reds/purples gone, replaced by light rain almost in an instant.

hilarious models and dreams are dashed.... always look forward to episodes like this, never try to get my hopes up as we are english and normally as the Aussie commentators on the 12th man say during one of the comedy sketches well they are about to get p****d from a great height.

Afternoon all

 

Well when it arrived the rain here was biblical...

 

 

...for about 15 minutes then it just settled into a 2 hour period of on and off rain and light showers. Day started warm and remains there too for the time of year and even hinted at turning brighter for a while, remains breezy and overcast now, rain has ceased too.

 

Not sure what we have coming for later as today changed in 24hrs and last time I saw the weather they mentioned the chance of storms passing through.

Well my squib got a little damp earlier walking across the hospital car park back to the car but certainly nothing hideous - it can do what it likes now I'm in for the night !

Bright and breezy here in Croydon, now. Well the first bout has been much ado about nothing.

 

The possible thundery threat for later on, moving into the area between Cherbourg Pen and Angers/River Loire region.
