Well that was a little disappointing!

So frustrating to watch that massive MCS moving up over us and then breaking apart at the last minute. Posted Image Really hoping that some storms will get going later.

Look at the latest radar and the blob of white forming just after it leaves Glasgow .. typical ...

Warm grey & humid up here; looks like today's round one will skirt the inverness & moray areas but we're in with a chance later in the week.  (I was too chicken to go out and watch properly in the Alps - it was constant flashing and crack/hammering at times, pretty scary for tourists although the next day the locals had almost forgotten about it. The rain was rather intense at times too.)

Turned into a rather persistent band of rain (the grass will be loving it)

Very short-lived thunder and lightning here but the lightning managed to take out some of the systems at work!

Come on...move along now...nothing to see here....

Well as I expected the most we've had so far is some light to moderate rain that has now largely stopped. No flashy, bangy stuff at all.  Posted Image

An energetic thunderstorm passed directly overhead at 10am today. Frequent C-G lightning and very loud thunder. Brief power cut with car and house alarms going off and dogs barking for miles around. Very heavy rain with large raindrops for about 30 minutes, although nothing spectacular. A lightning strike set a house on fire in the Kennoway Burns. I spoke to one of the fireman and he said the house is gutted. He also said another house was struck in the nearby town of Buckhaven. There was a 2-car accidient on the Kennoway to Leven road. One of the telegraph poles has been shattered in pieces, don't know if caused by the accident or from a lightning strike. I first heard thunder at 9am to the south-west and the last thunder at 11am to the north.

The sun came out this afternoon as it became very humid. Max 20.7C. Recent rain shower.

Man the Hovervan.

This peach of a Cb just travelled on through, illuminated menacingly by some crepuscular rays.

Livingston getting a torrential train of downpours, up into the white scale.

Continuing distant rumbles of thunder there for 15 mins or so.

Something approaching from the SSE, can't see anything on the radar but looks quite beefy in person.

This loop is a quicker one to access than Sat24 if anyone wanting a quick rewind of progress of the cells to the South

Still activity, in person, kicking off, big fat convective rain .
