Looks like being a lovely few days here with temperatures in the low teens and high twenties. Hopefully lots of sunshine, perfect autumnal combination of relaxing, warm days and cool, fresh mornings.

I think that Atlantic depression is just going to be close enough to cut off any flow from North, thus depriving us of some unseasonable cold im afraid.

Once again CFS is going for high pressure to dominate our weather during October temperatures keep flipping and flopping but the pressure is consistent along with limited rainfall

Lovely day here today forget autumn its still summer like here wall to wall sunshine 21c and light winds perfect day

Feels like a humid summers day here, plenty of cloud but very mild maxima, 22.2C and dry. Wouldn't be far off the summer maxima of some recent years!

More warmth to come in the near term it seems.

Please dear god bring me 1 decent autumn storm. Feels like ages since I've experienced 70+ mph gusts.

Yes please - wanna see trees bent double and rivers of rain. Fed up of stagnant junk.

I think the current weather patterns with a stagnant HP cell over us/near continent are a sign of things to come this winter but just alot colder ;)

The only good hp is a cold hp

What is there to enjoy when the weather does literally nothing? So far this Autumn it's been dry with very little wind, which is not exciting by any means. You need some storms to liven things up. Plus there is nothing like standing out in it, struggling to walk against it with the rain lashing so hard on your face that it hurts. I only remember a couple of times when that has happened to me but they were good experiences.

Prefer brutal cold but severe gales far more exciting than boring mundane weather.

Looks like autumnal next weekend. Low pressure to take charge. Cooler, windier and rainy!

I hope you're right!First thick-with-fog morning here for months. Looking forward to more of this stuff.

Indeed, fog starting to thin now.

Wife commented this morning on how dark it was........I avoided the temptation to burst into song and dance ;)

Well I've noted the comments above and here are my mid autumn thoughts. A slight hiccup to come next weekend but I think early October will see mild to very mild conditions 'Indian Summer like' with HP to E and a s to se'ly flow develops. the second half to be a very different animal. Getting increasingly unsettled and some strong gales, possible storm force winds in NW Scotland.  Whole country to experience the rough weather as LP track shifts south as block to our NE develops.  Overall very mild month mainly due to relative warmth during 1st half peaking in 2nd week.

Something for most, but I don't see any early cold outbreak.  Although I think we'll get rough weather I still think it won't be 'classic' mobility if that makes sense.

Could you explain why you think things will turn out that way BFTP?

My forecast in August, based on analogues, suggested a very similar outcome to yours.

It looks like we can rule out a classic cold autumn like 1919, 1952 and 1993.
