the trough over wales will head west over night

around 7am we will be under a mixture of warmer and colder air

i would not rule out heavy rain and thunderstorms during this period up to mid-day

Wind really getting up here in Brighton. Weather rattling in from the south west, a long fetch straight into the building, sash windows in the flat are shifting and agitating, not a proper storm but plenty of action.

One of the constant appeals of Brighton is the way the beach changes shape each day, sometimes regular gentle sweeps of shingle, other times, like today, steep drop-offs where a foot out of place sends pebbles cascading seawards like a stone avalanche and if you happen to linger where the beach is falling away you can feel the inverse power of the sudden void teasing and encouraging you down towards the waves. With each tide, with each shift of weather, it changes and the change of the beach alters the sea next time, which alters the beach next time, and so it goes for ever.

PPVE89.gif?31415

after the morning rain clears it should stay dry

gusty westerly winds

should be around 10 degrees

will not feel it though

PPVG89.gif?31415

sunday night

wind a little easier and from a westerly flow

a trough will move across the south east giving some heavy showers

will will be back under a cold air flow

UW36-6.GIF?26-18

would not be surprised to see some low single temperatures being recorded

no frost as wind too strong for that

PPVI89.gif?31415

monday

starts dry but heavy rain and strong south westerly winds in the afternoon

temperatures around 8 degrees

again will not feel it

PPVJ89.gif?31415

monday night

heavy rain still around but moreso the further south you are

strong westerly wind

temperatures around 6 degrees

PPVK89.gif?31415

tuesday

strong south westerly wind

heavy blustery showers throughout the day

chance of thunderstorms again

8 degrees approx

more to follow

I hope everyone enjoyed the cold spell, would be good to get another one in Feb. I for one am kind of glad that it's come to an end, as the ice was just getting ridiculous, at least now I wont be risking my life to walk anywhere haha! I'm off to Berlin during the middle of Feb for a few days anyway, so I suspect It might be cold and snowy still when I go.

temperatures around 6-8 degrees

a pretty big wind chill today so wrap up with this

PPVO89.gif?31415

a gusty south west wind

a tad warmer around 8-10 degrees

some showers possible late afternoon

Must say, I am pleased we are forecast a mild spell for a little while. Am off to the States next weekend and really didnt want the stress of the issues the UK has with snow! Once I land and get home on 7th it can do what the chuff it likes! hahaha
