Surprisingly happy with the overnight amount - totally unexpected for here.

Had snizzle last night and only an icy slush on cars, woke up this morning and everything is white - not much accumulation but I'm not too bothered about that as long as things are all white and nice. laugh.png

If it carries on like it is now for another couple of hours we could reach 10cm. Just took a measure on the patio table which had 1 or 2cm from Fridays snow, so around 7cm so far :)

Been pretty satisfied with this spell. A 4 inch dumping on Friday and on off snow since. The only thing that has been missing is severe low temps.

Would like a Greenland high to finish off the winter in Feb though!

Signs of a GH at the end of the GFS runs.

STOP PRESS ............... it has snowed in Preston overnight ................. I have just regained consciousness after collapsing when I looked out of the window. 1-2cm sticky stuff but should still be around when the kids get home, and still when the big kid gets home smile.png was still snowing at 7.30 when I left as well.

For once there actually seems to be more snow in Preston than round Carnforth, very little snow up the M6 north of Preston really plenty on the hills to the East of here though can't see north its too cloudy.

In Backtack's defence, the snow on Friday was misleading. It was light, powdery snow which was blown against objects. Now I had 7/8 level cm on the table outside but the actual level depth was about 10cm or 4 inches as snow was blowing off as it was falling. There was easily 8 inches in drifts as my photo showed (snow depth up to shin on that photo)

Out of pure need for snow, I said this last night! (the middle sentence being the key one!) Never thought it might happen though!

Finally snowing here ... quite light but seems to be coming down at a reasonable rate and its attempting to stick !!

Have also lost my view of Clougha Pike which i think has been eating all my snow!

Hopefully I might get a bit of snow on the ground from this as the kids (and me ) are sick of seeing snow on the tv but none here.
