According to the Met office app on my phone... Heavy snow from 6pm in Stevenage. Not the most realible app but interesting none the less.

Weather forecast #grittertwitter suggests there could be up to 6cms of snow and windy conditions - gritting runs now underway again.

well we've got a nice green blob over us, but it's got from moderate-to light.

been non stop here since about 8.30am (at least I have seen it non stop. we did take my step daughter back to Ware for a few hours). Seems like its been heavier here in Stevenage than it was in Ware. Its mounting up in places and although mainly light there are heavier bursts. Seems like there is still plenty more to come yet too.

looking at radar looks plenty more to come. what,your thoughts for heavier stuff

I believe the correct term is 'woofing it down' now. Previously wet roads turning white. They maybe small flakes but theres alot of them.

The system seems to be a little slower to move than forecast ( despite arriving earlier than expected! )

Intensity of the snow has increased here in the last 30 mins. Estimate about 7cm here so far and still falling

too far west like me, the other day i was too far east, sods law, not a bad covering here but i would like to watch some heavy snow fall, and its stopped now

Yep, just been out for a walk, it is absolutely pouring down here, flakes are not that big but the intensity is helping it settle everywhere. Much, much colder than 2 hours ago as well. We may be in some kind of 'sweetspot' at the mo'. Very lucky.

Was like that here until half an hour ago. Snce then the flakes are no bigger but the intensity up 25%. I'd say about 3cms today so far

Went out for a drive, all but main roads really are very slippery with very long stopping distances even from 5mph. Still Virginia snow on drive made very chalky noise so proper powder. :-)

It took a good hour for it to get to here from Ipswich; moving north, albeit very slowly indeed...
