Change mine to 3.4C, just 1C below the 1981-2010 average.

I'll take a stab at 1.9, average start then progressively bitterly cold with no real respite the last 2/3rds...who knows?

I really don't know, but I'll go for 2.5C. I'm hoping for much lower though.

My gut instinct is that it's going to be a drossy mild one; Feb rarely seems like a true winter month any more even since the 2007 change, the 2001-12 average compared to 81-10 and 71-00 shows this trend well. So 5.2 for me please.

3.9c, very slightly warmer than January. Perhaps having a similar feel, although the mild start won't be quite so mild but the potentially cold middle won't be quite as cold (or prolonged).

3.9c for me please, a chilly NW flow followed by possibly an anticyclone over the UK and this then slipping south to allow some warmer southwesterlies later in month.

3.99, nothing cold prolonged perhaps but then again nothing mild at all.

Although then again, is it actually possible to have constant average temperatures with no notable swings all the way through?!!!

The reason my prediction is below average is because there will be some NW'lies or N'lies as we head through which can prop up anytime from 1st-28th ... this, coupled with the fact I cannot see anything like prolonged mild, is the cause of my slightly below average prediction. (let's not forget, average doesn't mean mild).

Maybe some perhaps higher than average chances of a notable longer cold spell (in line with the Met Office's 16-30 day forecast) ... whether this will be a long period of slightly cool temperatures with some NW/N'lies (as mentioned above), or a long period of very below average temperatures (like January) remains to be seen ...

back to my prediction though I am sticking to 3.99, any huge difference would be an average ending up below this prediction (i.e 1-2'C) rather than an average ending up above this prediction (i.e 5-6'C) in my opinion.
