Manchester METAR going for snow-light snow all the way into tomorrow morning so we shouldn't give up hope just yet. 12 hours of light snowfall accumulating is better than 2 hours of heavy stuff moving through and nothing more after that.

In fairness we have a few cm lying outside here already, and any snow is still snow no matter the depth.

it's snowing.

the front has stalled, and is beginning to pivot. Any further north and east and we'd be well screwed..as it stands still heavy big flakes of snow, same intensity as 3 hours or more ago now.

A50 is chock'ablock with reports coming in from all across the area of blocked roads due to the snow and traffic on almost all trunk-roads at a standstill.

short changed? ou've still got quite a while to go yet for snow.

for the south west it was always going to be an all day snowfest, due to the orientation of the front...the fact it even reached stockport is a

small mercy, at least you got some thing, people further north are very likely to see nothing at all

Lots of tiny flakes now. Just opened the door to the delivery man and had a nice big snow drift fall in and land on the carpet!!

Looks like it's starting to get lighter around here, flakes not as big as earlier, and melting off some roofs. At least there was a bit of a cover (only 4 or 5 mm though).
