Faversham forecast looks interesting will it come to fruition?

Would tie in with north sea precip on radar heading towards kent for approx 8-9pm if it can hold together?

Based on the latest Models I don't see any reason to be too pessimistic. Ignoring tonight/tomorrow it seems set to stay cold or very cold all week, meaning snow can crop up anytime at very short notice, especially from an easterly/north easterly. For good measure the UKMO wants to also throw in a Jan 87 style easterly at the end of next week. From an IMBY perspective Jan 87 still beats anything before or since so will be watching future models with interest!

For those despondent about downgrades, unfortunately that's how it is in the good old UK but, with several opportunities ahead, there's a good chance EVERYONE will get lucky eventually IMHO. We just might need several bites of the cherry!

As things stand, snow for you unless your right down in the extreme south of the county.

How far south would you count as extreme south

I'd want to be at least 10 miles north of the M25 to feel safe. If I were down near the M25 I'd be expecting sleet.

as we progress through tues- thurs the undcut from the atlantic will force the upper level steering winds to push the showers further west-

Even if tomorrow is a let down the upgrades tonight for the middle part of the week are great- especially the UKMO...

the UKMO looks like Feb 2009 at 120 when I had 30cms of snow in 24 hours....

Maybe we should have a new thread i.e eastern and south eastern coastal line and not London & South east especially in these types of set up's..

At this moment in time Tuesday onward does not look that conducive for snow showers or streamers except for the coastal fringes of the se spreading into some parts of Kent.

I just cannot see beefy snow showers making it across parts of London & spreading further west unless a thames streamer sets up but we are talking 48 hrs here which is miles away from finding out.

Poor Poor Poor sums it up for me for areas London and west i'm afraid at this point...

You'd think that being closest to the continent and the colder air we'd be in a prime position for snow. Tomorrow looked to be the best chance for all of the South East to see heavy snow before that ****** warm sector showed up!

Big wedge of precip moving towards kent! Will it get here and will it be heavy enough to give a covering?

Looks interesting I wonder if it will effect the front moving SE in some way.

Yea. I'm watching this too. Why is no one talking about this?

Slight word of caution though on this. Given the set up tomorrow, a 90 per cent chance of snow doesn't mean that it won't chuck it down with rain tomorrow evening after it starts out as snow! Basildon is at 90 per cent, but we will get several hours of sleet.

Temp: 0.4

Dew Point: - 4

Clearing skies, occasional cloud.

Current observations would defiantly support snow, however temps always tend to pick up with an approaching front so need temps to drop a bit more beforehand. Ideally around - 3/4 should do it.

Like the % but it is just generated from raw gfs...... Oh well

Most kent folk should be looking ne on the radar over the next few hours..... Aka what may prevail before tomorrow and is why warning by met was issued....
