How come the BBC weather just lied to us this time last night we are pretty confident to have snow here with 5cm in places. Its just not on. Last few hours ago we are expecting a complete snow event but now it is just the snow to rain event again!! I pretty fed up by them lying to us everytime we gonna get snow.

Enough of me ranting. it stopped snowing here now.

It's not a case of them lying! That's just ludicrous! Snow is very hard to forecast!

Thin flakes not great yet and the UKMO a downgrade and GFS although an upgrade on the 6z its still not great.

The bbc weather is never ever right in my opinion, although that said they do appear to get rain predicted correctly but ive known them to have heavy rain up on a beautiful summers day and a cloudless sky!! Lol i take no notice of their charts to be honest. Someone did say on here somewhere that their updates are automatic and always changing but never seem to catch up to the latest models, hence being wrong all the time. Just have to glue yourself to a lampost tonight and hope for the best!!!

All stopped here to now! But i was happy to actually see some flakes today, not seen any here in well over a year!

Starting here in Stockport - v fine. Think it's a bit early yet to decide how it's going to go? Hopefully front may stall a bit over us

Model thread going into meltdown, apparently the UKMO is showing an undercutting low with block out east holding firm. Could be a big snow event for us on Friday, now where I've I heard that before.

Still snowing, laying a bit on the grass not on the pavement though. Obviously I am greedy for more, but on the other hand this is the second snow event of the winter I have experienced having seen it snow briefly in Bolton town center in December :)

Yeah pretty much stopped here what a waste of time.

And as for bbc my 13yr old daughter could do better.

It makes me laugh when they say changable ....anyone can say that ..that covers all types of weather.

The snow has stopped now for sure.

This band is struggling to make it to the Pennines looking at the radar.

We are still on the leading edge and what started very light is now even lighter.

However the temperature is around freezing so what bit is falling is sticking.

Hoping for some major intensification shortly or it will be a non event.

Check - ukmo still good - a goer at 120 - need a good ECM now.

OK time for false hopes again now that this non-event has arrived. Next Friday could be the the next time THIS doesn't happen - from this afternoon's 12z GFS: (though would be blizzards if it did)
