ECM is not to be trusted at this range and this uncertainty, however totals of 50cm would be achieved over the course of the run for us in the SW if not more.

Damn I just spat my coffee out after reading that lol

It's coming! We are getting all the snow we should of had in the 90's & 00's all at once next week!

Exciting times, although in all seriousness, the ECM is extremely unlikely to verify to that extreme!

50cm r u SH***ING ME!!

i am looking forward to it in one way but working on the front line in the ambulance service i am kinda dreading it in a way!!

busy times ahead, i was kinda hoping it would hold off until next weekend as im on annual leave but knowing my luck they may cancel my annual leave at the last moment !!

The man himself mentions "possible troublesome snowfall" next week in his forecast.

Slowly but surely its all coming together. Just a couple more hurdles to go!

Madness.

I really hope for all of our sanity that something happens.

If any of these silly models even come off by 20% we are still in with a lot of snow. If they upgrade or even verify then i fear the UK would be screwed.

Possibly some very nasty weather.

What would this kind of outlook mean for southwest? Snow if so how much?

Thankyou

It would mean very cold upper air. As for snowfall and how much....Wouldnt know till closer to the time.

Its possible that there will be a low pressure system to the south / over south.. This could pull in a lot of moisture and along with it a lot of snow.. ( A lot! )

But thats all up for grabs at the moment. Simply getting the cooler air in place first has been a struggle and currently it seems like it may happen.

I fear for the sanity of the mod thread if the gfs 18z doesn't show something similar to the ecm, if it's another mild (outlier) get ready for the usual wrist slashing and game over posts just like it was in there after the overnight gfs.

Some of those charts on the model forum are truly epic.

I never understand that myself. Everyone ( I hope ) knows that the GFS isn't the be-all and end all. It will eventually fall in line. But its been proven time and time again that it doesn't handle these events well.

I do say not to bin it however, but at least take that into mind before worrying too much.

Its pretty much nailed on that it will get cold. thats for certain..

For how long? Thats the question.. Possibly for a while..

yep just to confirm its not being shown atm, but is a risk in my experience. Embedded cold and snow on the ground will help enourmously.

It is as good as gets for us Steve, would like to see it at T72 though...:)

72 minutes more like!

I posted earlier in the week. Im going snowboarding on the 12th jan to italy. Why does it always snow here when i go away. Its happens every time i go. I think i would rather stay here if the charts turn out right. Gutted i could miss a snow fest.
