Didn't know it reached the local papers...I feel kind of famous! Don't remember 20cm falling in those years, must be the December 18th 2010 event? That dumped quite a bit!

A couple of pictures from last years snow (5th February 2012), hope we get some more in a few weeks time smile.png

The snow was deeper in 2010, but the deepest snowfall I've seen was 1991 in North London where over a foot of snow fell on that famous day!

Blimey that's deep, can't remember that! From the pictures I'm trying to recognise where that is in Bunty :)

It just makes such a nice change to have so much to choose from! Let's hope these stellar charts come into the 72 hour time-frame (probably around Weds/Thurs next week)

Live right on the outskirts (near to the ford, but further up the hill going towards Layston Church and why I have a slightly higher elevation).

Ahhh opposite the bungalows? I live in Vicarage road (Honey Lane) funnily enough, small world we live in indeed.

I must admit these charts really remind of the early 1980's cold spells, which lasted for several weeks. All of the rivers in North London just froze solid and stayed frozen for over a month.

Winters do seem to be getting colder and snowier since 2001/2002.

Will I finally be able to use my snow shovel that I bought towards the end of winter 11/12 after the snow?

GFS 18z says snow as early as Friday.

MT8_London_ens.png

temperatures down by the 10th and getting colder

i could call fi from the 9th here

however i would say certainly fi from the 12th (bigger spread)

these are messy but i am more concerned with the fax charts now

still some pretty decent ensembles there

should have the cold spell in view by tomorrow or certainly by monday

lots more viewing to go yet

but looking good

It's looking like we need a new thread so hold back on the charts and postings and I'll go and open a new one up !
