I think it's because you live there Coast. sad.png Keep us posted on how things are down there.

Nope, I'm up to the East from this particular highlighted patch (only just). Looks like locally West Sussex is in for a soaking, should make the 6.30 journey into work tomorrow 'interesting'

Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Southampton & West Sussex

Valid to: 1500 on Thu 20 Dec 2012

Periods of heavy rain are expected to affect parts of S and SE Wales along with SW and parts of central southern England during Wednesday evening and at times well into Thursday. This additional rainfall, following the recent wet weather, means that the public should be prepared for an increased risk of both surface water and river flooding.

Amber means you need to be prepared for the weather and take steps to change your plans and protect you and your family or community from the impacts of the severe weather based on the forecast from the Met Office.

If you can make out the figures on this one, some have accumulations of 32mm over the next 18 hours in parts of our region ph34r.png

Looks like a load of numbers from the national lottery to me. We can only hope for a downgrade it seems and maybe an upgrade with regards to something more seasonal later on. search.gif

It's this bit inland from the IOW and around 30 miles either way that keeps appearing on every model and chart - why the big deal for this particular area?

if you look at the fax charts

PPVE89.gif?31415

PPVG89.gif?31415

you can see where the fronts are showing

one over the south

the other over the south west

expect these to be slow moving hence where the higher warnings are

not looking too clever at present

It's a bit of a worry now - run the forecast loop here and see again what Saturday does, more of the same!

ouch

we could do with the block to our east-north east

to really push quickly west or to weaken for now to let these lows

move through more quickly

Ahead of some expected bad weather overnight and then again on Saturday, I'll open up a new thread shortly to cover anything in our region, hang on tight and grab your snorkels!
