Irisation or Nacreous Clouds

Got up to this sight as I opened the bedroom curtains. It's either the best case of Irisation I've seen or a very rare patch of nacreous cloud. I'm still undecided - any opinions?

The white 'tadpole' is a jet contrail but doesn't realy give much clue to the height of the clouds

I have seen the same too, got some fantastic images of it.. I think it is Nacreous.

That really does look like nacreous cloud! I've only ever seen it once before during an extremely cold spell of weather. I was very dubious since the minor cold spell we have now has all but broken and it was relatively mild this morning.

These are apparently VERY rare to be seen at this latitude, kept my eyes out this morning for any here but obviously nothing seen other than the usual skyscape. Good captures for those who managed to see this phenomenon.

I was lucky enough to see Nacreous clouds over Yorkshire back in Feb. 1996.

I started a thread about it here years ago.

I'd love another chance as my photos were quite poor back then.
