Yep the chasers are in Cape May... been watching their exploits (police, trees down, floods and a panicky navigator) since about 3pm.. heading further and further south... looking at the radar they seem in the right place to witness the eye wall...

They have been up since then, and somehow managed to get to Cape May. They probaly shouldn't have shown themself moving cones out of the way to get down closed roads Posted Image

Did they say they will be back?

Did they say they will be back?

Last thing they said was "right were using the phone now, about to get out of the car"

Nothing in the last 5-10 mins.. best to just leave it up and look if it comes back

Isnt that the ustream live one where the police stopped them and sent them home?

Yes they made it to Cape May beach, parked up, got out of the car and reported 30-40 foot waves and wind at 80 mph. Currently offline — maybe having a break to get the cameras primed for when it hits.

Someone on Wordpress has reported power cuts over there so that may be why communications are down. Could be out for some time by the sound of it.

Centre very close to landfall now on 2115z surface plot:

Central pressure rising now, lowest was 943mb, which apparently doesn't break the all time low pressure record across the Northwest Atlantic at least - which was set by Hurricane Gladys in 1975, which fell to 939mb on October 2nd of that year.
