How does the new warning points system work on Netweather ? I'm recently back to glance the model output thread and noticed it when I posted but cannot find any info when searching the forums.

I know on other sites that so many equals a ban. So please enlighten me guys :)

That's strange Foz, as I answered your previous questions about them and you even pm'd me to thank me for doing so. What else would you like to know?

There were some posts in the help/support topic about the points - in summary they are only visible to you and the team, so no-one else except team members has access to the points or notes within them.

There are no fixed numbers in terms of being banned etc, they're used solely as a method of letting people know there's been an issue which may or may not involve a restriction on that person's account depending on what the circumstances are..

I still have a warning point from 5 years ago, and with no explanation as to what it's for or why it's stuck for so long.

What's more I'd like it removed!

Hosts, mods and admins don't have warnings, I guess the forum software designers work on the principle that if you have to be warned you wouldn't be on the team. but for fun I am now going to try and warn Paul to see what happens

I have one from Dec 2008, I thought this warning points thing only came in about a month ago? or it may mean a negative -1 rep point

It was part of an old system which we used to make notes, for instance your one just notes that you had a post moved from the model thread elsewhere. The way the software works is that it merged that into the new warn system.

I've now cleared it.

Strange I've had one appear too, im not aware of doing anything wrong lol.... mebbe I did but in profile shows "There are no warnings to display."

Just makes me feel naughty, just like to know if done something wrong so I wont do again.

Ta!

Hi Ian, back then the warning system wasn't quite the same as it is now and was used as a sort of notes system on which Brian noted your conversation etc. All that was converted to the warn system when the forum upgraded.

I'll remove the point shortly for you :)
