There was an early season northerly blast around the 21st September 1872.

21st September: 11.1C

22nd September: 10.0C

23rd September: 10.6C

24th September: 10.0C

25th September: 11.1C

Grimsby on the 24th recorded a maximum of 9.4C

Sleet and snow was reported in some parts such as Wigston on 21st, Grimsby on the 20th, Manchester on the 21st, York on the 21st.

There were damaging frosts which injured many plants.

Minima

Camden Square: 0.6C on 23rd

Maidstone: -1.7C on 23rd
