A pleasantly fine start with plenty of sunshine and temperatures around 9C. The webcam is picking up a stream of CB cloud on the Southern horizon. Not so pleasant on Southern Coasts.

In all honesty the weather has not been bad here since late morning yesterday with no rain and the winds not as strong as I was expecting. some achievement with pressure under 990mbs.

Dull and wet in Sandhutton, with 56mm since yesterday morning- up until yesterday it looked like being a very dry September here, but after just one day, it now looks certain to be wetter than average!

A minimum of 10.3C, contrasting with recent cold nights.

Close on 48hrs continuous rain here now. Today would be a poor day in December!

Some very low temps around with only 8.6c at Bingley and just 7.5c at Fylingdales.

One of the coldest September days on record??

Rain has eased here at the moment, first time since last night. Looks as if there are heavier bursts on the way out in the Irish sea. Currently;-temp 10.8c, pressure 982hpa, wind slight. Not sure if it's correct but I have a bowl out in the garden, which was empty, just measured the water in it.....89mm? This might come in handy:- http://www.boston.com/news/weather/gallery/070209_ark/
