It is a challenge trying to pick your way through the flooding on both sides of the road, especially as some people are determined to drive through it without slowing down and then career across the other side of the road as the water acts as a huge brake and rips the steering wheel out of their hands doh.gif

You wait until the snow arrives. help.gif Logic and the ability to drive safely seem to go out the window and until the driver or its' passenger does, these people will not change. rofl.gif

Pretty soggy here again (Sussex) as heavy bursts of rain have started again.

You hanging on in there I hope QS, do stay safe good.gif

Intense downpour now here in Benny Hill, about the biggest of the day here so far. It's just not good.

Does anyone have any rainfall stats for the last couple of days from the South Coast? It sounds like some are getting an awful lot.

Back in Ipswich already then K?smile.png

According to the radar, a lot of heavy rain is sliding by to the east of where I am. Currently it's sporadic and light here.

It looks like this weather station location isn't getting such heavy rain as others in your area; the showery nature I guess.

Sunny intervals here and dry, but my home village looks like it's had a fair amount of rain this morning.

The official ones for Eastbourne weren't working on Sunday into Monday but my own one at home shows around 55mm so far during this storm period up to 6.30 this morning when I checked it last..

http://www.eastbourn....uk/weather.htm

Highest rainfall yesterday according to Met O official was Shoreham with 18.4 mm, but again I would say there were areas outside of the official stations that received a lot more than that.

I guess it's down to the monitoring station/places that the website uses. There certainly must have been a large amount in London and it's just not been recorded - although checking one station In Hampstead in particular, maybe not???? cc_confused.gif

Hi there! (a neighbour huh?),

I think it will die out during the course of the day but look at the free NW radar and you will see there is still some to come just yet:

Just a quick aside, is your landline working as I understand there is a big problem in Hailsham at the moment with BT lines flooded out?

Mine seems OK as I'm still getting a call every half an hour telling me I'm due a PPI Refund.

Mostly dry apart from a bit of drizzle which lasted about 10 minutes around midday. Norfolk seems to have escaped lightly - "only" 30mm recorded here on Monday :) Sun's out now :D
