Very early snow for some parts of iceland this year.

Can remember watching these cams for month last year and nothing. Its sept and they have some large snow cover already.

Severe blizzards hit Iceland

I've never seen anything like it.

I assume they heard the sheep bleet for help from under the snow?

Or is this some sort of video prank.

I lived in Swansea Mt Pleasant for a couple years by the way, good memories.

It's not unusual for them to be buried here typically sheltering by walls.

You can find them by probing with a stick.

He seemed to spot a melted vent hole by the rocks in this instance.

It's not actually that clear it was filmed right now, although presumably they are out at some altitude until normal autumn weather brings them lower.

Most flocks in Iceland are housed through winter.

The farmers were caught out because how heavy the snowfall was,and how a early the snowfall was in the year. The snow fell on the 12th of September with accumulations of 2 metres according to a report from Þingeyjarsýsla north Iceland.
