Just bucketed it down like nobody's business, probably even more intense than the squall line a couple of weeks back. Rumbles of thunder too.

Well that was disappointing heard about 2 rumbles, and a few minutes of intense downpours. Hope we'll get more....

Met Office rainfall forecast still seems keen on a Bristol Channel streamer of some sorts, later this afternoon/early evening around 1700-1800hrs onwards.

Could be something to keep an eye on for our neck of the woods, as well as some parts of the Midlands as they head NE. Although, by then in my view, the chances of thundery activity will be minimal based on past experience and gut instinct! :p

That'll be the cell that I could hear to my southeast, I think I'm just getting the edge of that one now. Moderate rain here. There it goes, rumble of thunder 3 miles to my east southeast.

Lol getting a bit lonely in there.....had one flash and a rumble of thunder last week but I'm aware that doesn't buy me a ticket out of the NSC! Just need a proper storm. 4 close rumbles and I'd declare myself out of the NSC

Yes but I still feel like NSC member 'Billy No-Mates' from deepest East Sussex, with only a distant rumble this year and that may even have been an empty tipper lorry running over speed bumps...... doh.gif

Look like I'm in line for something... a line of storms from South Wales to Welshpool now showing more and more sferics heading north east...

really interesting line from Newport to just south of Worcester has developed over the last half an hour as well showing Sferics to the north of the line.

Looking at the radar it went from a small shower over flint and mold to a nice thundery storm cell in about 25 minutes and is right over you... been a few strikes over the wirrial on the way.

|Part of a developing line from Chester to Penrith with lots of intense thundery areas along the line (Preston, St Helens, east of Kendal) - Actually if you discount the gap between Chester and Welshpool, which is filling all the time its one long line!

Wow. Storm overhead!

Result for you! Looks like I could be about to get something in Birchwood, the sferic gap between Merseyside and mid Wales is being filled.

The sun is out now. Got close sferics but no thunder from them yet. O yes there's a very distant rumble, can't tell where from though.

Guess who's downwind of that gap......

There's always a gap where storms round here are concerned. I anticipate the lightning detector strike map will show said gap around S Cheshire later......
