A dry and bright start to the day after an overnight low of 11.9c.There was even a few minutes of sunshine.

However it soon clouded over and was overcast with drizzle by 9am.

After a brief dryer spell it's now started to rain proper as the usual bank holiday crap moves in.

Currently 14.2c in a moderate southerly.

In what has been a very wet summer, the fact Bank Holiday Monday has managed to become the wettest day of 2012 here takes the biscuit! 41mm of rain here so far today. It also means August still has a chance to beat June's rainfall here with over 200mm already recorded.

Just capped an appalling summer off, today.

It's rained most of the weekend up north in Yorks where i have been and today was truly atrocious and around 14 degrees, wet and windy. It feels like autumn began a week ago and the leaves are turning already - light levels have been so low recently. Summer 2012 has been truly AWFUL.
