The first flash with rumble about 20 secs later centred about west of here, moderate rain as well and wind calm, T=19.4C Td=17.3C

BBC 24 forecast had all these showers/storms/beasts moving into n/ne england this afternoon and drying up behind with the possibility of a isolated heavy downpour through parts of the midlands it says

Hit jackpot here. Intense rain, strong winds and hail felt like a hurricane. Plenty of surface flooding now.

I'm just outside of Mansfield and its quite severe here at the moment!! Glad I didnt take my son to see the torch

Had a heavy shower and just got to the edge of the storm. :( Shame.

I see a few strikes showing well north of sheffield. Is this likely to be anvil lightning?
