A stunning day here, has been cooler than places further north and east at 15C but it's been almost unbroken sunshine since around 11 am. The sun felt surprisingly strong around lunch time as well with light winds and lots of people strolling around without jackets.

Early hill fog cleared by 0930 and the resulting St began to break by 1100 allowing sunny intervals for the rest of the morning and into mid-afternoon. A very mild day with the highest February max' since the 12th in 2008 when 15.1c was recorded.

One of the mildest February days I have recorded - Max Temp 17.5c, yet again we look like once we get a cold spell an equally mild or milder spell soon occurs.

If the local recording from the Met Office was correct the temperature, at least nearby from here, reached up to around 18.5*C. Bit doubtful it got that warm, although it felt very Springish outside.

Has cooled down a lot with the temperature around the 9*C mark. Fairly clear skies now, too.

In the end the maximum temperature was 16.2C, making it the 3rd warmest February day since 1981.

Currently mostly cloudy and exceptionally mild at 12.5C. The February record high min of 11.7C set in 1998 is probably safe tonight, but it will certainly be among the top values.
