My goodness if we make this without rain this will be one of the luckiest snow events we've had. The other regions would never forgive us!

Snow gaining momentum out there now too. In about an hour it looks like it shall ease however may be some more to follow if the conditions remain like now. :D

I have gone out and properly measured the depth and it is nearer 8 cm, still snowing temperature seems steady.

Well I am happy its snowed constantly since 3 ish this afternoon and there is a lovely covering of snow that comes in little flakes. I went shopping just over an hour ago, I got back 40 mins ago and now both my car and the tracks I made getting on the drive way are covered.

Tesco shut their roof top car park whilst I was there - due to customer safety. The roads are slowly covering where they have gritted too.

About 2.5cm here just south of leicester now. Looking very scenic.

Still just millions of tiny flakes instead of nice decent ones, still looks good though :)

Snow the heaviest its been all day here now, just gone and took a couple of snaps.

10cm in level spots, more where its drifted, not too shabby.

Heavy snow for the last 30 minutes or so - dewpoints become more marginal -0.4 now as the marginality comes ever closer. Hoping the PPN keeps back building towards N. Wales and that things slow down and stall - if they do we could be seieng snow more towards midnight. Unlikely though - think the PPN will be gone by about 9pm.

Front certainly slowing down now.

Snow now too heavy for the gritted road. I love how quiet the roads go too. :D

Just been out to measure in the garden with Matilda my youngest and we are measuring between 4 and 9 cm depending on where we measure. Aveerage is about 7 now thanks to heavier snow the last hour.

It can't stop now. Just another 20 to 50 miles east and leicester would be in that nice heavier stuff. Please weather god, please! then you may let it stall :p

Gone out and measured the snow depth here in Coventry, snowing heavily with depths of around 4cm. However, there may still be more to come before the night is out. However, it may be that the heaviest stuff may pass just to the north of us or alternatively maybe it comes a little further southeastwards.

Must say though, the councils must hang their heads in shame. Considering they've hardly had to use the gritters the roads are in a terrible condition tonight.

Just been out to measure in the garden with Matilda my youngest

Wouldn't it have been easier to use a ruler?!

The snow here has turned to rain now but, like some other places have seen, the snow may return when some heavier precip reaches here. It's been so windy that the snow has blown all over the place, so it's hard to tell how much there's been really, but it's probably less than 2 inches.
