A dry and clear start to last night but cloud increased later in the evening and eventually brought a few outbreaks of light rain during the early hours.

Currently dry with sunny intervals and increasingly showery looking to the west.

Today began with the temperature at 11.3c with wind, cloud and blustery rain/drizzle which continued until around 09.30 when

the sun began to break through and the temperature dropped to single figures.

It's been bright/sunny for 3 or so hours but is now cloudy again with showers nearby and the temperature has steadied at 9.1c.

Slowly getting cooler here at Cathays (near Cardiff City Centre (1 mile)), temperature now 9C after yesterday's maximum of 12.1C and the day before that minimum of 0.3C. Heavy showers coming in from the North West, with wind speed of 15mph and air pressure of 1020mb. Nearby areas reporting temperatures of (1.42pm) : Splott | 10.0 °C Caerphilly | 10.1 °C The Knap | 9.4 °C Cowbridge | 9.2 °C

A few brief, light showers during the day with lengthy spells of sunshine between them. A short heavy, squally shower between 1720 and 1740 which ended with a minute or so of heavy wet snow as the temp' fell to 1.7c.
