It feels normal to say the max was 'only' 13C. Especially when it's about 3c above the early November average. Shows how exceptionally mild recent days and weeks have been.

It's what I'd expect with a warm South Westerly feed at this time of year, but yes, 17C yesterday. Very much above average, unfortunately. :(

sunny today but the max was a very very disappointing 14.0C - disgusting for the time of year. (only joking!)

The temperature is falling very rapidly now.

Currently 10.3C from 11.1C just 10 minutes ago.

I think we'll get quite a low minimum here tonight, maybe along the lines of 3-5C (maybe a ground frost), although Ive been wrong before.

I think it's a good bet.

We have a South Westerly, which we are sheltered from by the Welsh mountains, and a low amount of cloud, which is currently en-route from Mid-Wales. Although the mountains could eat the cloud before it gets here. If not, we'll have an hour or so of cloud, then the rest of the night clear.

Again, I think the GFS has underestimated the temperatures for tonight.

Could be a grass frost here, I think a minimum of 3-5C has a good chance of coming off too.

You never know. Got down to 0.4c or something but no ground frost during mid-october- very dry air=grrrr!

Much more humidity tonight so 2-3c would make it quite likely for a ground frost. 3-4c for a sheltered one imo.

Yes, 3-4C for an 'Isolated frost' oh I'm so funny!

It's worth noting it's wet out there too thanks to a shower this afternoon, it's taking absolutely ages to dry now the sun has lost almost all of its strength, isn't really going to help a frost develop.

Well I don't know my temperature, I'm at my grandads house.

Actually wait there, I gave him a weather station, I'll go check it.

It's 9.7C. Feels colder than that though.

Rain at times early last night, clearing later.

Thin fog first thing then sunny periods and just a brief shower or two mid afternoon at home.

I drove through very heavy showers in the Llanelli area around 1330.

Light to moderate southerly breeze, mild.

Min: 4.9c @ 0730

Max: 13.4c @ 1330

Rain yesterday: 10mm approx (although I have not been home to get the Snowdon measurement yet)

Rain since 0900 today: Below 0.5mm, likely only a trace.

Currently: Clear periods, increasing cirrostratus.

Temp: 8c

RH: 90%

Pressure: 1007mbar, falling slowly.

Your temperature falls very fast. Do you live in some kind of frost hollow?

No one can beat OON's temperature rate though. His frost hollow is simply amazing.

I should get another weather-nut on another forum to join on here, he lives in an immense frost hollow!

Nein- but I do live on the edge of a forest. 6.7c now.

I'm going to dig a hole in the ground, about 100m below my house, fill the soil with sand- put a weather station there, and then we will see who's got the best frost hollow!

Wouldn't it just be easier to move to a beach with sand dunes?

Sand loses heat incredibly fast, and when you're surrounded in dunes, such as the crosby station. You can record some brilliantly low minimas.

I wonder if sand can become frozen so it sticks together like a lolly pop :p

lol yeah- but beaches have that breeze grrr!

Bet you Crosby would have got down to -20c if it were 50 miles inland, covered in sand dunes and in a hollow valley, yum! First aim in life for me is to make a perfect frost hollow!

Unless your entire town/city is built on sand, I don't think having a weather station on sand is fair, a bit like cheating. :p
