Biblical deluge just started here.

My 3 boys are bored with being shut up indoors. Perhaps they should do something useful like build an ark!

Netweather radar accumulation suggesting 30-40mm upwards in the last 4 hours - I reckon that some areas could see 60-70mm if this continues to be slow moving.

And still nothing from Met Office? No flash warnings or anything? It may of been a bit difficult to predict but you'd assume they would of been keeping an eye on it? Too late for those area flooded now...

Their response is:

"Warnings are issued for widespread disruption. Heavy rain on the south coast is localised. Forecast mentioned heavy rain"

Ahh I see ¬_¬

So in situations like these its the local reports to warn people, i.e radio.

Well that is a cop out if ever I heard one. The fact that all Dorset and Hampshire fire crews are attending or on standby for flooding incidents suggests disruption is widespread enough for my liking!

So the a local area wouldn't get a mention in a warning?? I am confused. Severe weather is severe weather, whether it affects a 20 mile radius or a 200 mile radius, IMHO the MetO should issue a warning for the people of Dorset and Hampshire. What do they get paid to do?

More than 70 calls in an hour to Dorset Fire & Rescue about flash flooding. Shops closed in Bournemouth. Ceiling collapse at hospital...

They have now issued a yellow alert for southern and eastern England for Sunday but still no mention of today!

That's tosh if ever I've read it!

Boscastle earned a red warning in 2004, is only a TINY town which suffered incredible rainfall totals over a TINY area...??? Consistency?

Yes, they are quite happy to put out snow warnings over a small area of Kent left, right and centre through winter. No consistency whatsoever.

....and looking at the latest radar the not widespread enough excuse doesn't hold either!
