I have finaly managed to get my weather station back up and online again however I am missing rainfall data ect because I cannot seem to buy a replacement rain guage and transmitter anywhere except for a website that doesnt ship to the UK http://www.ambientweather.com/wmorscwiprwe.html :wallbash::aggressive::cc_confused: The wind and temperature sensors won't last an awful lot longer either as all the fixtures and sensors are perishing and breaking up :help: Frustrating thing is you can still buy the base unit online for around £200!? :lazy:

If anyone has any ideas or website addresses that I can get any of the parts for this station id be very happy!

They will ship to the UK but the rain gauge is not currently in stock but they may be able to get hold of it for you but you're looking at about £60 all in.

No chance you know anyone in the US or Canada who can order it from Ambient Weather for you and post it to you to keep the costs down?

This website sells replacement parts but it looks like your weather station is discontinued so you may struggle to get hold of the replacement parts but worth asking.

Failing that try a well know auction site.

In the end it might be more cost effective just to buy a new weather station if you have to replace most of the parts.

Good luck anyhows!

Hi!

If you are happy with buying from USA, you can register with a service that enables you to buy goods and have a company forward it to you. You get given an American address and then they parcel it up and forward it on to your UK address. It cost snext to nothing to join and so far I have made one purchase for something from USA Amazon. The service works fine, except of course you may be clobbered for customs charges here, as the service/company does declare the exact cost of the item on the customs/postal form when they forward it on to you.

Thanks both of you thats quite interesting I shall have a look and see if it is worth trying to replace parts because like lancashire girl said it could get expensive in long run and who is to say I'll find other sensors 6 months down line when they pack up. The arials on 3 of my sensors are broken and the anemometer on the roof is under performing when it comes to wind speed im sure. I was surprised they all perished so fast really for what was only a few years ago a top of range system.

Oh what id give to have a davis pro  I look at them in a dreamy like fashion all to often.

Yes I tried them as well as quite a few places but it seems that all the newer sensors although almost identical wont work with base unit :wallbash:
