Just one light shower today, sunny most of the day , as ever any cool and wet weather fails to arrive for warwickshire, everyone here is acting like its full blown summer with lots of people out in shorts and in gardens.

I've just had a cricket competition round about your neck of the woods in Bromsgrove and was astonished by how hard the pitches were. I looked like it was ages since it last rained.

Cool day today with very heavy rain in the afternoon with -hooray! - Thunder. Early evening prolonged period of dry with sunshine raising temperatures pleasantly despite cooler than average. Very clear air with great views and fine cloudscapes. Could be worse.

40mm of rain here the last 48 hours, after about 130mm in June and 100mm in May. So quite wet here compared to many places, everything is lush and green and muddy and the reservoirs are almost full. A real non-starter of a summer so far.
