I'm surprised no one has started ths topic already! Will the following winter months remain below average? Are we in for a cool and wet summer with the current La Nina?

I think i will go for 9.7c after last years guess (which didn't go well!)

It looks like the warm period since 1988 has ended and we may be entering a colder phase - so I will go for another cold year:

8.8C for me!

Well I'll stick my neck out and say (purely as a punt) that I don't think this run of cold years will last - but I certainly can't see a return to the outrageously warm years of recent times. Let's say 10.05.

A rather close to average 10.12C.

CFS suggests a rather average spring but a very cold (approx 2C below average in the CET zone!), but dry summer with lots of blocking around Greenland. I wouldnt have given that setup the time of day but after this winter so far, who knows.

You banking on an exceptionally warm autumn to get you to 10 then?

  • Some first weekend of Summer - even the pigeons don't fancy it

Gusting winds, showers and persistent rain - not the type of weather you'd usually associate with the first weekend of summer. But there will be some improvement through the weekend and into next week. Read the full update here
