January CET

I have tried to analyse the coldest decembers to see what the following january temperatures are like, They do come out colder than average but rarely as much as the preceeding December.

On that basis I would estimate 2.2C.

My first attempt at a full years guesses so here goes -

I had thoght a fairly average month followed by a cold february. However as we seem to have more a less on going blocking wth low AO and NAO I will now reduce substantially....... ERRRRRRR

I fact I think I will go even lower than that. I'll go for a 0.9C. (Yes still positive, but not by much!)

After a shocker in the Dec CET (5 degrees out!) I'm going to have a punt at Jan being quite chilly. Early prediction... 2.4c.

With the CFS pointing towards more Northern blocking and a continuing cold trend being seen with the GFS and ECM, I am going to go for a month similar to December...

-0.1C is my guess.

Cold for first 2 thirds with exceptional cold mixed with less cold periods. I expect a proper milder breakdown to occur eventually towards the end of the month.

1.2°C for me please - another severe cold spell, followed by average weather for the final third.

Just added all the Daily Means last Winter, divided by 90.

2.41C exactly last winter.

-0.5C for December (which is likely) would require around 3.9C for January and 3.8C for February would mean it would be around the same. Any lower would ensure it will be colder...
