A clear and cold start with a slight to moderate frost, low –2.6c with –5.6c on the grass. At observation, sunny and cold, very frosty.

Yesterday:

Light showery rain cleared during the early hours to leave clear spells. The day dawned with a widespread ground frost. At observation, bright, though with a good deal of high-level cloud. The cloud continued to thicken during the day and became very slow moving, a clearance on the NW horizon was visible for most of the day, but made no headway until after dusk when it became clear and cold with a ground frost setting in. Top temperature 5.7c.

A clear and cool night with a persistent W breeze just preventing an air frost.

A clear and sunny start to the morning with mist and fog patches in the valleys. A good morning for spotting power station plumes, I could see 8 around the horizon at 0900.
