UK Outlook for Saturday 23 Apr 2016 to Monday 2 May 2016:

Rain clearing from the far south early Saturday with a northerly airflow then expected to become established across the country as the weekend progresses, bringing showers, with snow over higher ground. The wintriness is also possible down to low levels, especially in the north where showers are expected be most frequent, with some gales possible along northern and eastern coasts. Cold conditions are then set to continue through to the start of May, bringing periods of sunshine and showers, these occasionally wintry and merging into longer spells of rain at times. It will also be windy for some, especially along the east coast where occasional gales are possible, making it feel especially raw. Temperatures well below normal of the time of year, feeling chilly by day with widespread overnight frosts.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 3 May 2016 to Tuesday 17 May 2016:

We are likely to hang onto the colder weather through the first week of May, with a mix of sunshine and showers, these occasionally turning wintry, especially across higher parts of the north. As a result of below average temperatures, there is also a risk of overnight frosts. As we move into the second week of May, there is a weak signal that more settled, drier and less cold conditions could become established, with temperatures maybe moving towards the average for mid-May.

UK Outlook for Sunday 24 Apr 2016 to Tuesday 3 May 2016:

All parts will become cold by the start of next week, with temperatures well below normal for the end of April and overnight frosts. There should be some sunny spells, but occasional showers are also expected. These probably heaviest and most frequent in the north and northeast, with sleet or snow over high ground and possibly down to low levels at times. An area of thicker cloud and more widespread rain could move southwestwards across the country during Sunday. Cold conditions are expected to continue through the rest of next week and into the start of May. Sunny spells and occasional showers are expected, with perhaps some longer periods of rain. These are likely to turn to sleet or snow on high ground, and perhaps to low levels at times.

UK Outlook for Monday 25 Apr 2016 to Wednesday 4 May 2016:

An unseasonably cold northerly flow of air is expected throughout next week, between high pressure to the west and low pressure to the east of the United Kingdom. A mix of sunshine and scattered showers can be expected throughout the week, and often accompanied by a brisk northerly breeze. The showers occasionally falling as sleet or snow, especially on higher ground, though most prevalent towards the north and east of the country. In comparison, the weather should be a good deal drier and sunnier in the south and west. Temperatures well below average throughout, with widespread frost at night, though out of the wind it shouldn't feel too bad when the sun's out. Similar conditions can be expected beyond next weekend, though probably turning less cold.

UK Outlook for Thursday 5 May 2016 to Thursday 19 May 2016:

A gradual warming trend appears the most likely scenario at this stage, with weather systems making more inroads from the Atlantic. So after a rather cold and showery start with night-time frost, we are likely to see a change to more unsettled weather with recovering temperatures. The weather probably most unsettled towards the north and west of the country.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 26 Apr 2016 to Thursday 5 May 2016:

An unseasonably cold northerly airflow is expected throughout next week. This will bring a mix of sunshine and showers, often accompanied by a brisk northerly wind. The showers, most frequent in the north and east, will fall as snow on high ground and to low levels at times, particularly around midweek, with accumulations possible overnight. The weather should be a good deal drier and sunnier in the south and west, although a few showers are still expected here. Temperatures well below average throughout, with widespread frost at night, but not feeling too cold out of the wind in the afternoon sunshine. Into the following week daytime temperatures are likely to recover to nearer normal, with fewer showers, but overnight frosts can still be expected in places.

UK Outlook for Friday 6 May 2016 to Friday 20 May 2016:

It seems most likely that weather systems will start making more inroads from the Atlantic through this period. With this we would likely see a change to more unsettled weather, with near average temperatures both by day and night. The weather will probably be most unsettled towards the north and west of the country, with the longest drier and brighter spells towards the south and east.

UK Outlook for Saturday 7 May 2016 to Saturday 21 May 2016:

It seems most likely that weather systems will continue to make inroads from the Atlantic through this period. We would therefore generally expect unsettled conditions, with near average temperatures both by day and night. The northwest of the country will probably see the wettest and windiest weather, with the longest drier and brighter spells towards the southeast.

It is expected to remain cold for the start of this period, with a mix of sunshine and showers, often accompanied by a brisk northerly wind. The showers, most frequent in the north and perhaps merging into a longer spell of rain, will fall as snow on high ground and to low levels at times, with settling snow possible overnight. The weather should be generally drier and sunnier in the south, although still with some showers. Below average temperatures, with frost overnight, but not feeling too cold out of the wind in afternoon sunshine. Into May, temperatures are likely to be nearer normal, with unsettled conditions perhaps prevailing for the west or northwest and more in the way of drier and brighter weather in the east or southeast.

UK Outlook for Sunday 8 May 2016 to Sunday 22 May 2016:

This period currently looks rather uncertain, although the most likely scenario currently is for areas of low pressure to move in from the Atlantic, generally to the northwest of the UK. This means that the most unsettled weather is likely in the northwest with showers, or longer spells of rain, interspersed by shorter, drier and sunnier periods. The southeast, however, should see longer, drier, sunnier periods with shorter spells of rain or showers. Temperatures look most likely to be around average for the time of year, so, unlike the end of April, snow and overnight frost will become increasingly unlikely and confined only to the hills of the far north.

UK Outlook for Friday 29 Apr 2016 to Sunday 8 May 2016:

It is expected to remain cold and unsettled for much of this period, with a mix of sunshine and showers, often accompanied by brisk winds. Some showers likely to be heavy with a risk of hail, and perhaps merging into longer spells of rain at times. The showers may also be wintry in the north, mainly over higher ground but perhaps also to low levels at times with a chance of overnight accumulations. Temperatures will be below average, with frost overnight, but not feeling too cold out of the wind in afternoon sunshine. Towards the end of the period, temperatures may recover nearer normal, but unsettled conditions likely to continue for the north and northwest, with more in the way of drier and brighter weather in the south and southeast.

UK Outlook for Saturday 30 Apr 2016 to Monday 9 May 2016:

It is expected to remain rather cold and unsettled over the weekend, although less cold than this week is likely to be, with a mix of sunshine and showers, often accompanied by brisk winds. Some showers likely to be heavy with a risk of hail, and perhaps merging into longer spells of rain at times. The showers may also be wintry in the north, mainly over higher ground, and there is a risk of overnight frost where skies remain clear. Through next week temperatures are likely to return to nearer normal, with some drier and brighter weather developing, especially in the south, however some rain is still likely at times, particularly northern areas. More unsettled conditions may return country-wide later in the period.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 10 May 2016 to Tuesday 24 May 2016:

The weather through this period currently looks very uncertain, although the most likely scenario is for areas of low pressure to dominate over the UK, bringing unsettled and changeable conditions to most parts. Showers or longer spells of rain will affect most places at times, perhaps most frequently in northern and western areas, but there will also be some drier, sunnier weather too, this perhaps prevalent over the south and east. Temperatures are likely to average out near normal, feeling warm on the sunnier days, and cool in the cloudy and wet spells. Overnight frosts are unlikely for most.

UK Outlook for Sunday 1 May 2016 to Tuesday 10 May 2016:

It is expected to remain on the cold side for the start of May, although less cold than this week is likely to be. It will generally remain unsettled with many areas seeing a mix of sunshine and showers, these still wintry over some hills, and often accompanied by brisk winds. By the end of Bank Holiday Monday we could see a spell of wet and very windy weather moving over the UK, perhaps giving gales in the northwest. Conditions are then likely to remain changeable in the north, but drier and more settled in the south. Temperatures will start generally below average on the whole, with some overnight frosts still possible, especially in the north. We will see an upwards trend in temperatures as we head further into May.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 11 May 2016 to Wednesday 25 May 2016:

There are uncertainties in conditions for the second half of May, although the most likely scenario is for northwestern parts to have more in the way of unsettled weather with showers, merging into longer spells of rain at times, and some brightness. Southeastern parts look to see the best of the drier and brighter conditions, though some rain is still possible here. Temperatures are likely to stay near, or just below average, but it will feel warm on the sunnier days, especially in the south.

UK Outlook for Monday 2 May 2016 to Wednesday 11 May 2016:

Bank Holiday Monday is expected to be cloudy and windy with outbreaks of rain. These are likely to be heaviest and most persistent in the north and west, where there is also a risk of gales. The rain should clear eastwards to be followed by sunshine and showers on Tuesday. The second half of next week through to the middle of May is expected to be changeable with showers or longer spells of rain, interspersed with some dry and bright interludes. The rain being heaviest and most persistent in the northwest, with the chance of high pressure building across the south giving a mainly dry and sunnier spell. Temperatures probably near average, perhaps warm in the south.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 3 May 2016 to Thursday 12 May 2016:

A mix of sunshine and blustery showers is expected on Tuesday, this clearing to persistent rain across northern and western parts on Wednesday and drier, brighter conditions further south. These unsettled conditions are likely to continue through the week and into the weekend with showers or longer spells of rain across northern and northwestern parts though some brief drier, brighter spells here. Southern and eastern parts still perhaps seeing more in the way of sunnier, warmer weather though still a risk of some rain at times. Into the following week, similar conditions continuing though decent dry periods likely too. Temperatures close to average for most, perhaps a little below at times still in the north and northwest and warmest in the south and southeast so feeling warmer than of late.
