Im really losing confidence in my slightly below average outcome with signs of a west based -NAO/-AO and Scandi Ridge for September. Sorry to cause trouble but I'll raise my guess to 15.5C.

Not going for a record breaking high for once?

Could be a classic switcharound month with a warmer than average first half cancelled out by a colder than second half - very good chance of retrogression of heights to Greenland and a cold arctic plunge developing mid month - in line with many earlier predictions of a cold Sept and still being suggested by TWO - though I tend to ignore their forecasts as they change on a weekly basis. Met office are not foreseeing a warm Sept.

I'm going to go on slightly above average with more of an Atlantic influence so 13.9C.

14.5C to the 1st

http://hadobs.metoffice.com/hadcet/cet_info_mean.html

Minimum for today is 9.4C, max today looks to be around 20C, so a small rise to 14.6C looks likely tomorrow.

The 06z GFS would have us around 15.4C by the 6th, then as heavy rain arrives to suppress maxima, we would drop to around 15.2C by the 8th.

I think I'm way off this month going with 13.1 but it's too late to change it now. I think something nearer 14C is more likely.

I thought the 61-90 average was 13.6c? Yet they have 14.5c as -0.4c below? Im guessing its an error

Thats the anomaly to the 1st. In other words the CET average on September 1st is 14.9 - Remember we're now into a cooling trend so the first half of September is usually much warmer than the second half.
