The first beta version of the V5 Netweather Radar is now available to Netweather Extra subscribers (fill, lite and radar only).

This major upgrade brings a brand new interface and radar map online allowing totally free zoom and pan around the radar map right down to street level, along with a range of other features.

Some screenshots showing some different zooms and radar scale options (including the weather type radar which is live on this first beta version):

The radar can be accessed here:

A lot of work has gone into this new system, so we really hope you like it - please bear in mind that as a first beta there will be some bugs and it currently has only a limited feature set, but we will be updating a regular intervals prior to a final release of the finished version.

If you have any comments or feedback please feel free to post them here, or contact us via the form on the radar page. I would ask that you post bug reports and issues via the form only though so we can keep them in one place and track any issues properly.

Thanks

Paul

Just had a go on it, initial impression is that it looks great, really looking forward to following this years storms on it, its brilliant that you can now see exactly where precip is in relation to places. Thanks for the effort that obviously went into creating this product.

I've decided I'm definitely going to sign up for the radar in time for the thunderstorm season, I might sign up for 12 months this weekend if I get round to it :)

very nice upgrade Paul....Smooth, greater resolution, and especially like the way I can zoom in on any location without the need to know relevant post codes!.....very good! :)

Must say i am extremely impressed by V5 ... it is just like using the Barons ThreatNet Radar we use for storm chasing in the USA, though of course without the technical extras.

Fantastic. I can now see where the ppn is in relation to my location.

Thanks very much for the improvment. Time to extend my sub.clap.gif

Very impressive, although one thing I have noticed is that the radar echoes seem quite blurred (especially when zoomed in), is it meant to be like that? Certainly isn't as blurred on the old version.

Looks great, but it is stuck at 8pm on Friday right now, so have yet to see whether it works.

This radar really worked well in last night snow event.

Very impressive, although one thing I have noticed is that the radar echoes seem quite blurred (especially when zoomed in), is it meant to be like that? Certainly isn't as blurred on the old version.

I think that is because the zoom feature is now more detailed than the actual resolution on the radar.
