Hopefully the snow showing on the radar will intensify, as it's still just the odd flake at the moment.

EDIT. A lot more flakes appearing now :drinks:

LoL, no offence to any weathermen, but with the way the weather has been behaving lately, it must be a nightmare to predict even the next 24 hours let alone the next few days!cold.gifwacko.gif

We've got a covering and it's still coming down fairly heavily but small flakes. Might be able to see it on the webcam.

No worries, i put an open question out about tomorrow morning though, not Sunday morning. Any way, still got very fine snow here, looks amazing outside!

Been snowing very lightly in Chesterfield all day. It only started to settle about 16:00 though. Interestingly I can see ice crystals in the air glistening in the street lights. I have never noticed this in the UK before but was treated to an excellent display of Ice Crystals suspended in the air in Germany a few years ago.

Excellent mate, it's turned to snow here, but the flakes are very fine atm

At the moment it only seems to be settling on the grass. It's too light to amount to anything.

We're under the first band that moved in from the coast and now seems to be merging with the main band. Has been "hailing" light to moderate for the last hour and a half nearly and settling. Not graupel, but icy. Waiting for the snow to arrive soon. Temp 0.2, DP -1.

There is a hell of a lot of snow on the Pennines, a slow thaw would be best and seems likely although there is the potential for heavy snow on the hills this weekend.

This is a picture of the A640 from Manchester to Huddersfield, this is a MAIN road to Manchester...Astonishing. http://www.flickr.com/photos/34913852@N04/4256437569/
