Im jealous. I have 6 inches of snow in the back garden, but reports from backtrack of a foot is sickening!! Everyone keeps talking of these massive flakes but we havent had them here all day. Still snowing though

man its crazy snow here still heavy, the roads have become a playground for kids and big kids alike as most cars have given up

I didnt expect this much snow! The size of the snowflakes are incredible! At least an inch has fell in the last 20 minutes.

I can see a slither of blue sky

and it has stopped snowing now here in Lytham.

Can confirm that too here in St Annes westy. What is interesting is that although the snow has now stopped here, with the temps around freezing, any slight drips from branches are freezing into mini-icicles! As I type a few little flakes falling again! Can't complain - this is the snowiest winter here in the 9 years we've lived in these parts. Thurs might bring more if it makes it across the Penines.

There seems to be a bit of sting in this band of snow's tail as it desperately tries to drift southwards. Snowfall accumulations are getting an extra sprinkling here. Winds also picked up a little, so the snow is started to dance around a bit, instead of falling straight to the ground.

it's been strange here today - clearly we picked up about 3" overnight, but it's been a day opf steady accumulations - we seem to have missed all the fireworks from the west - though as a ever, the snow fest is very localised.

I know one thing - anyone who goes below 0C tonight is in for hell tomorrow

That explains why my sister & nephew just sent me a pic of a 6ft snowman they'd built in the garden They live in Blackford Bridge, near what used to be Est Est Est restuarant (can't remember what its called now). Thought I'd be in sunshine by now but this cloud cover ain't shifting. Still v light snow on and off.

Yes, there is quite a heavy blob of snow coming over the Pennines and going to hit central and Northern Manchester, I may be a little too West for it. I cleared the path for my mums car eariler and a cm has fallen back on top of that.
