Well I bailed out and put off going to Morrisons and decided to support the local shops just around the corner lol - Glad I did, snowing heavily under dark leaded skies. Must have about 3 to 4 inches now, although I haven't measured it.

http://www.keepmoving.co.uk/home_jamcams.aspx#mapSection traffic building up over the highest part of the M62 - especially eastbound towards Huddersfield/Leeds.

whats the situation like where you live, any snow on the ground?

Just checked Skemelsdale is 78m asl. Here in Liverpool we have lying snow/graupel it keeps coming in sharp heavy showers, some really huge clouds coming at me from N/NW

Our couple of centimetres of REAL snow from the early hours have washed away now in South Liverpool in the sleet/rain showers that followed and the sun is trying to break through!

A recent hail shower has speckled the floor but no snow left, just slush. :)

Hope there's more snow on the way but I think it will have to be pretty sustained to make an impact now.

Might be a little bit of respite after the blob of merged showers exits Gtr Manchester stage SE. However there's lots more forming up over the Irish sea, streamlining their way for our parts. Large area of snowfall over Scotland too, which might have North Yorkshire/Eastern parts name on it later this afernoon.

The sky is clearing now from the west. There are more showers coming from the Irish sea but not as heavy as the band that just passed! This was the merged area of showers that the bbc forecast showed this morning.

Looking at the Wind Vectors too, if the Shower over Stranraer can build to its Western Flank over the Irish Sea, then after the cell thats making its way onshore around Fleetwood now, Manchester could have another "3rd wave" before the evening is out.

Had a fair covering in South Liverpool this morning but most of it has melted away. There's still some left on the grass and on rooftops sheltered from the sun.

Drop temperature, drop!
