Temperature has plummeted since my post 50 mins ago. It's now 12.3ºc and sunny.

Temperature is plummeting fast here now. About an hour ago it was 11c and now it is 6.6c!

I think tonight could be the first air frost in prone spots for us in the south with it dropping like that.

A fantastic day with wall to wall sunshine and clear blue skies with excellent visibility.

A chilly start with a min of 2.8C which is the lowest so far and the first signs of a ground frost were present in the odd place this morning.

Temps have started dropping like a stone and have dropped 2C in the last 20 mins.

Temperature is plummeting fast here now. About an hour ago it was 11c and now it is 6.6c! :winky:

Blimey! I didn't notice that after I posted my post.. I was around 12.7C at that time and there was me thinking I live in a frost hollow! :lol:

I agree though - possibly down to around 0C here as well tomorrow morning I think.

Currently 10.4C and dropping about 1C every 15 mins.

5.6c so still falling quite fast although i expect it slow up somewhat.

Another 1c and ill almost be on par with last nights low although last night was quite windy still which held it up once it had cleared abit.

Problem with such a deep frost hollow is i have to replace batterys in sensors because solar batteries run out with lack of sun and i hate changing the wind sensors on roof.

Yes that can be a problem, my anemometer is not idealy situated and id like it to be higher up really but if it was any higher i wouldn't be able to reach it from the garage roof to clean away spiders webs etc as ive had the odd problem before. Although thankfully I do tend to get enough sunlight.

I think the reason I got a lower min than you last night was probably because the wind was able to fall calm down here with less elevation.

9.2C now and the rate of fall will start to ease off a bit later this evening. There is shallow mist developing over the fields again.

Mist is a good thing sometimes, it sometimes helps the temps to fall :winky:

Anyway dropping very rapidly for me too now, just over 1c in 30 mins currently 10.4c with a rapid decline!

Yes I agree there sorry I didnt make that very clear that was just another observation I had made, wasn't saying that it would stop the temps falling quickly. It seems to show where the coldest air is pooling across the fields sometimes.. Its that type that is lying low over the fields and doesn't really seem much 'deeper' than 1 or 2 meters.

Infact I quite like mist/fog it makes things nice and atmospheric

Now down to 7.9C here.
