BBC's Dan Corbett, bless his cotton socks, briefly mentioned Grace in his 6.30 forescast, referring to her as a little "troublemaker"!!

Quite apt I think. Nothing dramatic, weather wise, but a very interesting little storm nonetheless. biggrin.gif

Steve M

I think invest 91 has just become TS Henri, now that could become a real troublemaker(luckily enough not here)

Quick, Ice...email or text Sky News - get them to display this as "Breaking News", or at least so they can use their pointless ticker bar...whistling.gif

Mondy you know the saying that if you've got nothing constructive to say then ....

This isn't the thread for people that are only interested in 100mph winds or 6 ft of snow or 1 meter of rain.

But it might well be thread for those that enjoy unusual events such as the effects of the most tropical storm near to us for many a year.

We don't have the big 20-40mb gradiants we only have a little 4-7mb difference,(much less in places). That this can produce gusts of over 50mph is pretty interesting IMO.

BTW, nobody has said that the winds are extraordinary, or that the METO should have a warning out.

Come on guys, lets not this descend into a slagging match, if you think there's nothing interesting with this system - why bother posting here - other than perhaps to wind people up?

Yes, the winds are nothing to note, but the fact that it was a tropical storm so far NE in the Atlantic so near the UK makes the topic interesting, plus it's pulling rather warm and moist air from the SW with 19C temps and 19C dew points across the S right now and quite an impressive thermal gradient along the cold front further north producing alot of rain.

I think that it is a natural wonder.....beautiful on the satelite...let's just enjoy the moment! besides, it is delivering much needed water to the dried gardens; particularly those in the SE.....Here's to "Graceful Grace!":(

found a nice CloudSat pass right through Dublin (for those of us living around them parts  ) Grace was just SW off the Coast at the time. Nice 10km high cloud tops and a decent bit of rain showing up along rhe 0C line (orange dots)
