It's just annoying when you can't get all the features you want in one unit.

As I said to the Bentley salesman when I thought the deposit was the buy price! :)

Hahah awsome.

Is making a DIY AWS a feasable option?

Yes. I built my own AWS as a backup to my VP2. It uses the 1 wire technology, and you can inbuild as many modules (i.e sensors) as you like. Its much much cheaper and allows you to build a system to your needs. I wrote an article about it here.

Your DIY set up looks very interesting, do you not have the build documented in pictures or a 'how to' guide?

Well i got mine today, not set up the wind or rain sensors as it's dark when i get home but i've put the temp sensor up.

Very happy with it other than the fact it isn't all wireless so i have to figure out where i can put the rain bucket because of my location(street by the house)

...A bit of a question actually...the wind sensor would be best fastened on the roof yes? So it can get all the wind it needs.
